DePaul Community Health Centers’ Infant Empowerment and Education Program (DIEEP), Crescent City Family Services, Seven Star Academy Inc. and TrainingGrounds are proud to announce the Second Annual A Date with Dad event on Saturday, June 7 at Xavier University of Louisiana’s Grand Ballroom (1 Drexel Drive, New Orleans, LA 70125). The event, which is free and open to all fathers and father figures, will begin with registration at 9:30 a.m., leading into opening remarks and panel discussions at 10 a.m.
This year’s theme is Strong Fathers, Strong Families, Strong City. A Date with Dad highlights the vital role fathers play in building strong families and fostering a thriving community. Attendees will enjoy engaging panel discussions covering important topics such as paternal mental health, defining fatherhood, career development, the impact of education on parenthood, financial literacy, and more.
The event also features local vendors, such as Total Community Action, New Orleans Family Justice Center, JP Morgan Chase Bank, Job1 and more, that will provide resources to fathers. Fathers will also receive a healthy lunch and have the chance to win free prizes such as barber shop vouchers, passes to Audubon Zoo, gym/fitness memberships and much more.
