Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Services
Good nutrition during pregnancy, infancy and childhood can help build a fit and healthy population. DePaul Community Health Centers offers Women, Infants and Children (WIC) services. WIC is a special supplemental nutrition program for pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, and children up to 5 years old.
WIC services include (free of charge) nutritious foods, nutrition information, breastfeeding promotion, breastfeeding support, and referrals to other health and social services. The foods provided may include: infant formula, infant fruits or vegetables, infant cereal, adult cereals low in sugar and high in iron, milk, cheese, juice, eggs, peanut butter or dried beans or peas, whole grains, canned fish, and vouchers for fresh fruits and vegetables.
WIC is available at two DCHC locations in Greater New Orleans. Families who may qualify may visit our Mid City (3201 S. Carrollton Ave.) or Ninth Ward (1030 Lesseps St.) locations.
For your convenience, we offer evening appointments at our Mid City location every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. In addition, we offer weekend appointments every first and second Saturday of the month at our Mid City location.
