Infectious Disease Treatment at DePaul Community Health Centers
Infectious diseases are illnesses caused by harmful organisms, such as viruses, bacteria, and fungi, that get into your body from the outside.DePaul Community Health Centers Infectious Disease specialists provide treatment for the following illnesses:
- COVID Vaccine
- HIV prevention and treatment
- STD testing and treatment
- Latent TB treatment
- Flu and pneumonia treatment and prevention
- Urinary tract infection treatment
- HPV prevention and treatment
- Vaccinations
HIV Prevention
DePaul Community Health Centers provides patients with health preventive services such as:- Free HIV testing
- Free STD testing
- Free STD treatment (based on patient’s eligibility)
- Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) medication available at all DCHC pharmacies
Mobile Sexual Health and General Wellness Services
DCHC and Concerned Citizens for a Better Algiers (CCFBA) are partnering to provide mobile, sexual health and general wellness screenings. Services provided by this initiative include free STI and HIV testing, blood pressure and glucose screenings. The services are free, available to the public and provided monthly.The initiative is supported by Ryan White Services and Resources, a division of the New Orleans Health Department, which provides primary medical care and essential support services for people living with HIV.
