Suzanne Lafevre
MD
A native of Carbondale, Illinois, Dr. LaFevre did her residency in pediatrics at the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, where she also earned her medical degree. Her bachelor's degree is from the University of Illinois. She served as Chief Resident before being hired as faculty in the Department of Pediatrics as a general pediatrician.
She is the Director of the Pediatric Continuity Clinics at LSUHSC, an Associate Program Director, and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics. Because of her work, Dr. LaFevre has garnered numerous teaching awards over the years. She was also the Director of the Ambulatory Division of Pediatric Medicine for 10 years. Dr. LaFevre is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Association of Pediatric Program Directors, and the Academic Pediatric Association.
Over the years she has volunteered in several community based events to raise money or awareness for specific causes like early childhood education, nutritional programs and childhood obesity. Dr. LaFevre and her husband are raising two beautiful GoldenDoodle puppies. They like to travel; and they love music, cooking and eating at new restaurants in New Orleans.
