Nurse Darensbourg is a proud alumna of Louisiana State University where she earned her master's degree as well as William Carey University where she earned her bachelor's from the School of Nursing. Among her honors is the LSU Recognition of Class Spirit Award for graduate school.

Nurse Darensbourg is a member of the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She stays involved with the community through public speaking, mentoring, and recycling. Nurse Darensbourgh is married with three children.
