Sandra Robinson
MD
Dr. Robinson is a native New Orleanian who earned her MD and bachelor’s degree from Howard University. She received her Master of Public Health from Tulane University, and she participated in the Senior Executives in State and Local Government graduate program at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Dr. Robinson completed her pediatric internship/residency at Children's Hospital, National Medical Center in Washington, DC. She also completed a pediatric residency in ambulatory care at the University of California, Francisco, California.
Dr. Robinson has been recognized with numerous honors and awards. She earned the National Medical Association’s highest honor, the Scroll of Merit in addition to the Distinguished Speaker Award. Dr. Robinson has also been recognized with the Daughters of Charity Cross Award for Community Service, New Orleans Magazine’s "Lab Coats Rock - New Orleans Women Lake Science Seriously," the BGR Excellence in Government Award, the City of New Orleans Unsung Hero's Award, the Congressional Black Caucus 2006 Health Braintrust Heroes Award, the Great Expectations Foundation 2003 Women in Community Service Award, the National Health Service Corp Directors Award, and the New Orleans Medical Association Outstanding Service Award.
Committed to the community and her profession, Dr. Robinson is a member of the Pediatric Society of New Orleans, Circle-Lets Inc., and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. She is the mother of two children and grandmother of two. Dr. Robinson’s hobby is traveling.
