Tickled Pink to Breastfeed

The event will take place on Thursday, August 29 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Salon22. The gathering is designed for expecting women, current nursing mothers, and those planning to breastfeed, offering them a chance to connect, learn, and celebrate in a nurturing environment in celebration of Black Maternal Breastfeeding Week.
The event is presented in partnership with DePaul Community Health Centers Infant Equity Education Program (DIEEP), the Alpha Beta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and other local organizations.
Participants will have access to valuable educational materials on local breastfeeding support services and can listen to words of support and encouragement from Veronica Gillispie-Bell, MD, MAS who serves as Medical Director of the Louisiana Perinatal Quality Collaborative and Pregnancy Associated Mortality Review for the Louisiana Department of Health.
The event also provides an opportunity for mothers to engage with others in the community, share their experiences, and build a supportive network.
Attendees will receive nursing support gifts and the winner of DIEEP’s PUMP Act Compliance Grant will also be announced at the event. Due to space capacity, this is an adult only event.
